In 2016 Saskia transferred from using acrylics to oil paint for her artwork. Although she still makes use of acrylics for the under layer, the top layer is done with oil paint. On this page you will find a summary of her oil paintings.
These oil paintings are not part of any series.

Summer Symphony
Our living room was in desperate need of a painting. In this popsurrealistic oil painting I combined my love for big eyes, with my husband's passion for music. All combined in an underwater theme. The air bubbles form the first notes of a musical piece called 'Summer'.
Created with oil paint on 80x140cm canvas.

Embracing Dragons
Life brings with it many obstacles. We can fight these obstacles, ot we can try and learn from them. In other words, embrace them.

Compartmentalize
I have a need for arranging my emotions and memories in imaginary drawers. Sometimes one of these drawers opens up, and I let an emotion or memory run free for a while. After that, it is neatly stored back into the drawer, giving room to another.

Seventh Heaven
I created this painting after the loss of my mother. She passed away five weeks after our wedding. The time before her passing was one of great joy. But those last few weeks it went downhill very fast. This painting is about the fact that joy and grief are very close to one another. Seventh Heaven is a painting with a smile and a tear.
