Last year I participated in an exhibit at Penumbra Art Gallery in Portugal. This year due to Covid-19, the art shows are mostly online. A reoccurring show “Squared” is held in July. And although I haven’t had much time to work on my art this year, I couldn’t pass up on this chance to participate again. So, as a sort of follow-up on last year’s Life, this year I created a piece called Transcience.
Last year, the theme and name of my piece was Life. I was in the middle of my pregnancy when I created that piece, which I still hold dear. During and after my pregnancy, my hubbie, our boy and myself had to deal with health issues. Let’s say that I’m very thankful that the three of us are still here. It did have a tremendous impact on our lives, and on our way of thinking. With that in mind, I had my theme for this year’s art show.
It is all part of the circle of life. Not just the nice things, but passing as well. We can mourn, and we can learn to enjoy the important stuff even more. Transcience is a little piece that to me meant a small piece of processing all the things that happened this last year.
I’m nowhere near processing it all, but it’s a start.
Transcience was created with Prismacolor pencils and marker on paper, and embellished with white acrylics. It measures 20x20cm and it is framed in a white with pink frame.
It will be for sale as well. If you are interested, check Penumbra Gallery on Instagram, and send them a DM*.
This show has ended. If you are interested in purchasing my Transcience illustration, please send Saskia a message.
